My name is Ron Bury, I'm a photographer and naturalist living on a boat with my wife Kathy, in the northwest Highlands and Islands region of Scotland.

We are based in the Caledonian Canal and still doing a refit of the boat which is a bit behind schedule. This means we'll probably spend all of 2007 and the early part of 2008 in the Great Glen while we test and trial the new boat systems.

At the same time, I'll be expanding my collection of photography about the Great Glen and Caledonian Canal, so expect to see a lot of boats and waterways photographs over the coming year.

I wont be ignoring the natural history and wildlife as we travel about the Caledonian Canal and have my sights set on a number of habitats in the Great Glen which I'm hoping will yield some interesting results.

Over the next few years we hope to chronicle our travels through the blog and the website, focusing on Wildlife, Landscapes and the journey, wherever it may lead.
