Review:
Great travel writing
I read the electronic version of "Slipstream Stories" in one sitting and loved it. It has the marks of the best sort of travel writing in that it has a story and focuses on people and events (rather than simply reciting places and activities in the manner of guidebooks, blogs, and most travelogues -- useful as those can be).
The writing is crisp, graceful, and easy to read. The many photographs blend with the content to extend the feeling of the text. The "slipstream" theme connects the various episodes of the book without seeming forced.
Those drawn to India or unusual travel, or who wander through life pushed along by their own version of the "slipstream," may well enjoy this book. I am, I do, and I did.
