This CD begins by introducing where The Shopping List poem (featured in an illustrated book on Lulu.com) came from. Then, the two boys featured in the poem recite it. Then, one of the boys recites it with an indication of when the pages in the book should be turned. Next, the words are sung to 4 different tunes. Next, the four tunes are provided without lyrics for kids to sing along. Finally, one child recites a poem about unpacking the groceries when the family gets home.

The Shopping List, an illustrtaed children's poem, is an example of "everyday poetry" for children. Written by a father of three and illustrated by his 8 year old son, this illustrated poem tells the story of a father and his two sons planning for a trip to the grocery store. The father puts to poetry what he will buy and what the family will have for meals in the coming week. It really did happen one Saturday morning!
