Originally composed as a Music Theory project in college, The Awakening was eventually used in Van Devender's wedding when his bride to be walked down the aisle. Just over 20 years later, it is finally available for purchase as a published piece. Just over 10 years previous to publishing, it was released on the JavaMusiK cd, Ascend.

This was originally written as an A level exemplar, but has turned into quite a nice song. It has Celtic overtones, especially when used with a harp.

The original poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow has dark sentiments of the dangers of winter, which are also depicted in the setting of the later verses.
This setting uses a range of techniques to express all the emotions in the poem.

Print: $11.87 Download: $5.10 This is the third movement of my orchestral work Praha. It is modelled on the Slavonic and Hungarian dances of Dvorak and Brahms. I have chosen to place alternating fast and slow sections to add more contrast. This is my first orchestral work.

Wenceslas is well known and I chose to make some use of Good King Wenceslas within the texture of my music.
Vitus is also well known as his dance is a cure for Tarantula bites, or a condition of restless fidgeting. I gave him a capering ungainly melody which is interspersed with references to the great river Vltava.
Sigismund/Adalbert reunited Prague and the Czechs at a time of great unrest, though some think he doesn't deserve either his statue or his stature! His music is grand and imposing as regal music ought to be.

Print: $7.53 Download: $3.00 A piece of music that came about because of the boredom and frustration with an INSET day which was both patronising and a complete waste of time. I think the music portrays our feelings on that day quite exactly. We wrote it by alternately choosing random notes and rhthyms and equally random time signatures. Surprisingly, it has turned out rather well.
