spurse is an international collective composed of individuals with experience in a wide variety of fields. spurse has no (fixed) content or members – rather it is a viral multiplicity that is continuously reforming itself as it becomes new projects and new events. In this, it is open to change, contradiction, multiplicity, tangents, infection, and betrayal. We are interested in considering the public as that which must be continually constructed as a part of the invention of public space. In this we are interested in emergent forms of individuality – swarms, crowds, the person, groups, ecosystems… spurse press publishes items in relation to our investigations. forthcoming titles include: "11 thesis after nature" (based upon our work at the IMA), a book on drawing systems, "the complete human and non-human psychogeography of the coasts of maine", "spurse: collected writings 1998-2007", and we will be re-issueing the six volume encyclopedia "discipline" from "the lost meeting". contact: spurse@hotmail.com.

sensing place is volume III of the research work done in montreal with DARE DARE (DVD, 30 min.).An investigation of spatial politics and movements of bodies. What is smooth space today under the conditions of surveillance? Is smooth space a revolutionary space -- or do we need to rethink these terms? What is the role of the concept of holey space in relation to these practices? This video is an extended meditation on this in relation to moving through Montreal and how a body is inseperatable from spaces of movement. spurse in an international research collective. spurse.org.
