Print: $17.90 The story is told by an eight-year-old boy who lives on a hill that is divided into two streets in the shape of a horseshoe, Evergreen Ave. and Oakland Ave., on which live two very different groups of children. Through a series of adventures and conflicts between the two groups, the protagonist learns lessons about the ways of the world. The streets become symbolic of the good and bad sides of life, and of people. As the narrator struggles with the clash of good and evil, he becomes increasingly aware of the ways of the world, and develops a fervent desire for justice and peace on the hill.
