Once you realize that A Personal Daily Calorie Budget is the main key to controling your weight, a natural interest may come for comparing calorie info for foods and beverages. This book lists calorie info per one gram for the foods and beverages of the world. Use the book as a conversation piece for your coffee table, more accurately determine how many calories you are consuming or find a lower calorie item to meet your budget for the day. The inspiration for this book came from my wife, just like my other book, The Pen and Paper Diet. My wife came up with a simple technique to find out how many calories there are per gram for a made-from-scratch meal. This got me interested in finding out how many calories there are per gram for the world’s foods. I simply used the tables in The Pen and Paper Diet and divided the amount of grams per serving into the amount of calories to get calories per gram.

As my wife and I have been using The Pen and Paper Diet to control our weight, it seemed like a beneficial idea to hold onto our consumption records so that our Physicians could review them if they choose. Poor diets can lead to some illnesses so we thought having a formal journal of our consumption may help identify something unhealthy in our eating and drinking habits. Michael Dow is a new author and manager of Dow Creative Enterprises, LLC which is responsible for publishing books and websites. Michael’s first book that has been published (May 2008) is The Pen and Paper Diet which is based on scientific research and is easy to use. Individuals with wide ranging backgrounds from a high school dropout (non-GED) to an MD have grasped the weight management concepts in the book due to its straight forward discussions and step by step walkthrough of the program. This is the diet that most people have been waiting for since it does not involve diet pills, it does not require you to avoid certain types of foods, and is a weight management program for all activity levels even sedentary.
