UPM is about reaching people. First to meet the physical and emotional needs of support, resources and information. Then, as God opens that door, reaching their spiritual need for Christ, as we love them through this journey of Autism. Angel Thompson is the wife of Pastor Matt Thompson in Geneva, Ohio. She has her BS is Psychology, MA in Missions and MA in Counseling from Grace College, Grace Theological Seminary and Grace College Graduate School in Counseling & Interpersonal Relations. They have two children, Joshua and Faith. In October, 2004 they founded a support group Organization for Autism Spectrum Information & Support,Inc. (OASIS) after their son was diagnosed with Autism. Angel's prayer is that God will use her books as an avenue to draw you into a deeper relationship with the Lord as you walk through your day, recognizing His moving, even in the smallest details of life. www.oasisautism.org
The True Intimacy of Becoming a Water Walker

The True Intimacy of Becoming a Water Walker is a devotional book inspired by Angel’s son, Joshua. This book is all about stretching your faith to be a person who steps out of their comfort zone to meet God who is waiting on the waters of life which are often uncertain. Waiting for you to not only walk to Him, but walk with Him. At the end of each devotion is an "Intimate Moment with Christ",a section to reflect on areas of your journey and walk with Christ. Most of the devotions you will read have been inspired by her son who lives with Autism every day. As she watches him and his grasp of Christ, it has challenged her in her own walk with the Lord and what it means to truly become a water walker. Angel's prayer is that God will use her books as an avenue to draw you into a deeper relationship with the Lord that is truly intimate as you choose to leave the boat and walk on the waters of uncertainty into His safe embrace.

This is a short book of devotionals for every day life. In April 2004 our son was diagnosed with Autism. He pays so much attention to the smallest of details that I began to try and view life through his eyes and found that the smallest of things can draw ones heart to God. My prayer is that God will use this book as an avenue to draw you into a deeper relationship with the Lord as you walk through your day, recognizing His moving, even in the smallest details of life. This is a 3 day Vacation Bible School Program created to meet the needs of a small church on a small budget. Even if your budget is small, it should not mean that the kids in your community cannot come to a VBS done with excellence, where they can learn about God and have fun. This 3 Day Adventure has just that. The manual has 3 days of skits, lessons, games and crafts and ideas on how to decorate your sanctuary on a "shoe string" budget. We all have a plan in our heads of how we “think” life ought to be when we marry and have children. When those plans are shattered, it is like someone came up to your card table while you were putting together a jigsaw puzzle and the pieces went everywhere. Yet, your puzzle did not just hit the floor, it scattered to the winds and you now stand there with an empty box. Life Inside the Box of a Jigsaw Puzzle is a book about finding God’s Grace, Strength, Hope and Understanding inside the Spectrum of Autism. I am a parent who is inspired daily by our son who was born and blessed with Autism. May you find blessing, hope...and a new look within the puzzle of Autism.

Jelly Pirates

Joshua is 7 years old and has Autism. Our son lived in his own world which seemed to trap him where he would spend hours screaming and banging his head. After his diagnosis he began speech therapy and occupational therapy as well as early intervention and eventually mainstreamed preschool where he had very involved teachers & therapists. Joshua wrote Jelly Pirates when he was six. The story was inspired by the Smuckers Jelly packets that sat on the table at the Kaffee Haus in Wooster, Ohio. It is a cute little tale of Jelly Pirates in search of honey treasure. Joshua hopes you like his book. We want you to know that any proceeds that he earns from his sharing his world with you will be used to help with his continued therapy and a portion will be placed in college fund as he has a desire to go to college. Can we work together? Isn’t that the question we are all plagued with especially when the school year rolls around? What about in our community? As a parent of a child on the Autism Spectrum, I realize that we have to be the ones that take the initiative. I don’t mean with blaring nostrils of fire…I mean moving forward to not only bring autism awareness, but to link with and connect with those who have contact with our kids now and who will in the future. In this manual, Angel Thompson will open the door to explore what must begin and what needs to take place in order to work together.
