Karen Mason was born in London in the early 70s and has lived in the capital city ever since. She has written since childhood, often preferring an exercise book to a packet of sweets, as a treat. She completed her first adult novel at age 14 after a bet with a friend to see who could complete a book first, within two weeks her friend had written five pages whereas Karen had written a 250 page novel!
A graduate of East London University, Karen has sung in an indie pop band called Rug, playing venues as prestigious as the Rock Garden and the Bull & Gate. She’s also dabbled in acting and screenwriting.
Summerset was first written in 1995 and has since undergone many changes. Nowadays Karen also writes chick lit under the pseudonym Louise Bryant.
