NM Poetry Tangents is a coalition of poets working together as a community benefit organization to promote literacy, especially through poetry media, and encourage the growth and unity of the literary arts, both page and stage, within the state of New Mexico. NM Poetry Tangents organizes events, publications and festivals, while its members volunteer within the schools and various agencies, organizations and charitable foundations. Our mission is to ensure the growth of the literary arts and literacy within the community, while fostering self-expression and activism through the arts for youths and adults alike. Per-city Poems is a collection of pieces evoking the emotional and physical migration of people within a metropolitan city. Which city is left for the reader to envision, but the atmosphere and imagery are there to act as an ultra-violet light, illuminating the imagination with echoes of reality.
